OUTLINE FOR MIDWEEK TRAINING:

2 handling skills 4hour each

FIRST DAY - TUESDAY
Hand cue (touch) - Anna

Front crosses - Vanessa

SECOND DAY - WEDNESDAY
Ketschker - Anna

Blind crosses - Vanessa

THIRD DAY - THURSDAY
Sequences in am: 2 groups each 2 hours, then switch

Courses in pm: Everybody in one group

In these workshops we will cover basic skills which will help you to get around UK and international style courses. We will cover how to teach your dog each of these skills in detail. After that, you will practice how to cue your dog in short exercises. Finally, we will put it all together and run a long sequence using the skills you have learned. Course maps with a variety of exercises on the seminar setup will be provided to enable you to practice at home. Young dogs are welcome!

Anna's workshop is designed as an introduction to international handling as well as a revisit of the foundations of international handling for more advanced handlers. Vanessa's workshop is designed to perfect when, how and where the front cross and blind cross is used as well as when to use a front vs. blind cross on course.

Tuesday Day 1: Anna will focus on a hand cue. Vanessa will show how and when to properly use a front cross .

Wednesday Day 2: Anna will be helping to perfect Ketschker turns and their use on course. Vanessa will cover how to execute blind crosses and when to use them on course.

Thursday Day 3: We will break down a challenging course into short sequences and run them individually. You will learn how to set your dogs line and when to use which cue combination to handle your dog efficiently. Since this workshop is about applying your handling skills, we will not spend much time on how to teach a certain maneuver. The focus will be on running courses using the skills you have learnt over the last few days. Course maps with a variety of exercises on the seminar setup will be provided to enable you to practice at home.
