On Saturday June 8th, Danesford Obedience DTC ran an Open Obedience Show. This being their 30th anniversary year it seemed fitting to be back in Sandbach where the 1st KC Show was held in 1983 at Sandbach Cricket Club. From those very humble beginnings the club now has a reputation of running well organized and friendly shows.
A heat of the KC Good Citizen Special Pre Beginner class was scheduled, which is a mixture of exercises taken from the Pre Beginner and Bronze Tests.
There were more than 30 entries and the members took 7 of the 10 places on offer; Jodie Parry ran off for 1st place and qualified Diva for the semi finals, to be held in Scotland, by gaining 2nd place. Jodie was 3rd with Sprite, Mandy 4th with Rye also qualifying for the semis, Liz and Tilly came 5th, Jodie and Roxy 7th, Michelle and Donny 8th and Sally with Poppy came 10th.
We wish Jodie and Mandy the very best of luck in October in the semis and hope they both qualify for the finals at Crufts 2014. They would follow in the footsteps of Lydia and Red and Claire and Cooper who made the finals in 2012.
In other classes we saw Rachel and Poppy come 3rd in Beginners and Carol and Eddie 6th in the same class. Alison and Haddie took 1st place in open C and Georga getting 3rd.
All of the judges reports can be seen on ObedienceUK.com under the show reports section. To date there are 7 reports out of the 13 classes at the show.
A very well done to all who attended and all gained valuable experience if not a Rosette.
